Mr. Reades update.

Hi everyone, We are nearing the end of the term. Its hard to believe that we are halfway through the year.

I have decided to stop homework for the remainder of the term. I have asked the children to keep reading each night as this has proven to help with lifting their levels and self confidence.
I also asked the children to continue practicing their times tables. (Focus on 2, 4, 5, 10x).

Parent interviews are on Tuesday and the response has been very positive. Please remember that if you wish to see me about your child then you will need to return your slip before Friday.
I only have times AFTER 5.30pm left.

I am always here for you to see if required.

Have a great week everyone!!

David 'tows the line' with Goliath

It was penned as a easy win for the Italians. A hame against 'no-hopers and part timers'. This couldn't be further from the truth as the All Whites laid out a convincing challenge to the Italians that almost left the reigning world champs in a shock loss.
Although NZ finished with a 1-1 draw, it meant an historic moment in NZ Football history.
There is no denying that our National Football team is pretty "All White!!"

Today is the big day for Miss Yardley as she 'ties the knot' in the lovely Island of Rarotonga. As a tribute to her, we have a video of her and Mrs Ward (also in Raro for the wedding) showing their dancing prowess at a school disco two-three years ago.

Congrats Miss Yardley from the Un4gettable team!!

  1. Dolphins only let one half of the brain sleep at one time and always sleep with one eye open.
  2. Mosquitoes have 47 teeth
  3. Emus can't walk backwards
  4. A goldfish has a memory span of 3 seconds (I can think of some children like that)

...and we think we have weather problems?

Due to the immense tropical storm Agatha, the city of Guatemala was thrown into a state of emergency as the torrential rain and flooding opened up a large sinkhole in the middle of a busy intersection. Swallowing a three story building and one other small building. It is believed that a security guard was killed in the collapse. Authorities say that it is a miracle that more people weren't killed.
The hole measures 66 feet (20m) across and plunges nearly 100 feet (approx 30m)
Although geologists are excited by this event, locals are baffled and shaken.
Makes you feel a little better about the rain we have had...
